Souring manager (mechanical components)
Location: Changzhou
Main purpose and key responsibilities
Work on NPD programs for sourcing and Qualification of mechanical components for Energy Solutions Group.
Identify sole source, single source and long lead time mechanical parts and aggressively localize and qualify the same.
Develop the mechanical components like sheet metal, plastic, stamping, bus bar etc with Local or alternate suppliers.
Understand the concept of the PHEV/EV battery pack systems.
Get Quotes from Suppliers for mechanical components and do cost analysis.
Work with suppliers for developing the mechanical samples
Manufacturer of mechanical components audits and approvals along with vendor quality team.
Do on site testing, evaluation of mechanical components if required
Track the mechanical samples being sent to various design centres for qualification and coordinate for the same.
Create Market intelligence reports for mechanical commodities sourcing in China
Other work assigned from time to time.

Relevant experience and qualifications
BS Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Automotive Industry
At least 5 to 8 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment or R&D Organization in an Automobile industry. The experience criteria can be relaxed for good candidates.
Should have exposure to costing of custom designed mechanical components.
Working experience on Sourcing, Purchasing or Component Engineering, Creative thinking, Analysis, Presentation, Development, Implementation & verification
Strong communication skills, good people organizational skills, a good facilitator
Excellent analytical skills to identify improvement areas and make proper recommendations.
Strong Project Management Skills.
The candidate should be willing to travel extensively.
Excellent English skill in reading, writing and speaking.
